Spotlight on: Rose Quartz and Serenity

In our post last week, we discussed the Pantone Colours of 2016 – Rose Quartz and Serenity. It seems that we have waved goodbye to the earthy, impactful Marsala of 2015 and taken a deep, inhalation of calm.

Both of the colours can be used to create calming and stylish spaces within your home, but if you’re a bit lost as to how to make them work, we’ve collected some beautiful examples of people who have done just that.

Walls

You might be too scared to paint your house pink, and we get that. But these photos may just change your mind..

See! It’s not that pink. This subtle wall colouring teamed with neutral furniture really works to create a calming and inviting space.

We think Serenity is a great shade for living room walls, creating a lavish and elegant vibe.

Bedroom

The bedroom is where this colour pairing really come to life. As they’re not loud, bright and bold colours like previous years, they really omit a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a snooze.

By using accents of the colours through pillows and throws, you can easily be on trend while not having to completely redecorate.

This bedroom is really embracing the Rose Quartz trend, with geometric accents and classic touches.

Living Room

There’s so much you can do with these colours in your living room. If you’re asking us, go for some beautiful pastel furniture, complemented by some bold metal accents.

This room is using the colours perfectly together, creating a really understated, contemporary space.

This bold sofa combined with the neutral white & wood tones creates an eye catching room which is easy on the eye.

Kitchen

Finally we come to the room we probably spend the most time in. Pastels really work in the kitchen, and they’re easy to add too.

By adding ceramics in pastel shades, it’s easy to add a splash of colour to your kitchen without going all out.

Speaking of going all out, this kitchen is pastel-tastic. The dip-dye chairs make a fun DIY upcycling project, and we’ve had our eye on a pretty Kitchen Aid Mixer for ages. Now to justify buying one..

We think the new colour power couple ooze sophistication, and bring a bright, serene and calming energy to any interior. As always, we’d love to know what you think – are you a fan of the choice for 2016? Will you be incorporating them into your home? Get in touch in the comments below.
